So, reflections: the act of serious thought or consideration; casting back a light or heat, mirroring, or giving back or showing an image. As I previously stated this week, mirrors for me are a no go. BUT every once in awhile we HAVE to take a glimpse into one to discover ourselves, or rediscover ourselves. To actually acknowledge who we are, where we are and where we want to be. What image does your mirror reflect? Have you given any thought or consideration to where you are or where you want to be?
When I reflect I realize that God created me as I am BUT with the capability and ability to change so to be more comfortable. Meaning, by nature he created me thin, yet also created me to be a mother. BUT He didn’t create me as one who snaps back after child bearing. That’s a fact! However, I AM able to change so I (ME, not society) am more pleased with my body and how I feel in my skin. I know that consistency, determination and will hinder me. I am easily discouraged and give up on the things that I know will make me feel better but may take a minute to achieve…such as exercise, meal planning, daily affirmations and overall self-care. When I tell ya’ll my patience is nonexistent! I think it and expect it to happen right then and there, yet it doesn’t work that way. Gotta for sure let go of that mentality.
But you see that’s the beauty of being a canvas, created by the most amazing artist…WE have the FREEDOM to keep sculpting the masterpiece that God created! So I think its time for me to let go of excuses, time to stay focused and just live! I want to love me 100% (inside and out) with no doubts or uncertainties. I want to focus on me and not what society says about me. Like REALLY focus on me. Doing this will enable my next reflection in the mirror to be of accomplished goals, happiness and sooooo much self-love! What about you? “Let it gooooo, let it gooooo….”
When you look in the mirror what do you see? Does that mirror reflect how you feel within? Does it highlight something you know you WANT and NEED to change? What are you doing to break free of the old you (whether physically or mentally). Look in the mirror, make a vow to yourself and keep pushing!
